Ponte Vedra Beach is an unincorporated seaside community in St. Johns County, Florida, United States. Located eighteen miles southeast of downtown Jacksonville and 26 miles north of St. Augustine, it is part of the Jacksonville Beaches area.
The area is known for its resorts including the Ponte Vedra Inn and Club, the Lodge and Club, and the Marriott at Sawgrass. It also lies within St. Johns County, which is the wealthiest county in Florida. Ponte Vedra Beach is an upper-income tourist resort area best known for its association with golf and is home to the PGA Tour and the Players Championship.
The Nocatee/St. Johns area has so many options and is only 7 miles West of Ponte Vedra Beach. There is a real variety of new homes for sale in Nocatee, and it’s attracting people from all over. It’s known for its forward thinking community feel, schools and new homes.
Guana River State Park is 2400 acres of estuarine preserve with two public beaches in Ponte Vedra.
Lesser known areas include Atlantic Beach and Neptune Beach. Properties for sale in Atlantic Beach and homes in Neptune Beach tend to go quickly. It’s a highly desirable area for millennials and those who want a true beach town feeling.

Jacksonville is the largest city by area in the contiguous United States as of 2020. It is the seat of Duval County. As of 2019, Jacksonville's population was estimated to be 911,507, making it the 12th most populous city in the U.S. The Jacksonville metropolitan area has a population of 1,523,615 and is the fourth largest metropolitan area in Florida.
Jacksonville is centered on the banks of the St. Johns River in the First Coast region of northeast Florida, about 25 miles (40 km) south of the Georgia state line and 328 miles north of Miami.
There are more than 500 neighborhoods within the area of Jacksonville, Florida, the largest city in the contiguous United States by area. These include Downtown Jacksonville and surrounding neighborhoods. Additionally, greater Jacksonville is traditionally divided into several major sections with amorphous boundaries: Northside, Westside, Southside, and Arlington, as well as the Jacksonville Beaches.
There are four municipalities within Duval County that are outside of Jacksonville's city limits: Baldwin, Atlantic Beach, Neptune Beach, and Jacksonville Beach. The latter three communities, all located on a coastal barrier island, form part of the area known as the Jacksonville Beaches, together with Mayport within the Jacksonville city limits and Ponte Vedra Beach in St. Johns County.
